The reading
A sterling silver heart holds a curling wave above a lower field of synthetic paua, suspended from both upper sides on a chain.
The wave occupies only part of the heart, suggesting affection for something lively and changeable without expecting that love to contain or settle all of its movement.

The symbol
The crest bends back toward the heart's open upper space rather than filling it. Its inward curl gives delight a moment of return, while the paired side attachments hold the scene evenly
The material
Sterling Silver forms the heart outline, curled crest, side attachments and chain. The continuous bright edge keeps an open space above the wave, giving affection a boundary that holds without closing everything in.
Synthetic Paua fills the lower section of the heart beneath the curling wave. Its blue-violet color concentrates the sea image at the base, giving a remembered place a vivid presence within the open outline.
