The reading
A mermaid lifts both arms above her head as a scaled tail curves below her human torso.
The joined forms make difference part of one continuous figure, suggesting an identity broad enough to include more than one way of being. Change can involve recognizing those parts together, rather than deciding that one must replace the other.

The symbol
The upward arms extend the figure while the divided tail fin gives its lower end a different direction. Their shared curve holds reach and rooted identity in one shape, allowing aspiration to grow from the self already present.
The material
Sterling Silver joins the smooth torso, flowing hair and patterned tail in one elongated body. Changes in surface detail make the two forms distinct without separating them, giving complexity a tangible sense of continuity.
