The lore
Leather is the oldest protective material humans ever wore — shelter made wearable. It is the only tool here that was alive, and traditions treat it accordingly: a material of instinct, endurance, and honest wear. It records everything (sun, sweat, years) and gets better for it, which is its whole teaching.
Working with it
Leather suits embodiment work — it warms instantly, molds to you specifically, and pairs the animal body's protection with your own. Good for grounding seasons and for softening metal-heavy stacks with something that breathes.
Care & keeping
Keep it dry, feed it occasionally with balm, and let it age. A leather piece molded to your wrist is yours in a way metal never quite manages — tradition says never lend it.
